Senior Network Security Engineer

JM BL369800 £333.000 per day approx PAYE
Contract Length: 16 months
37 hours per week
Office based with travel around the South and Southampton

Our client is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer. The role involves the day-to-day operation and management of the organisation's wide area and local area communication network infrastructure, including voice systems.

Key Accountability Areas:

  1. Use network management tools to monitor network and voice traffic load and performance statistics to ensure service levels are met.
  2. Create reports and proposals for improvements to enhance service delivery and support continuous business needs.
  3. Identify and resolve operational issues, implementing necessary network or voice changes and maintenance routines.
  4. Coach and mentor network engineers to ensure best operational practices and standard adherence within the team.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Receive work objectives and work packages.
  • Collaborate with and influence department managers.
  • Share best practices and support performance and development within ICT teams.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance across the organisation.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Strong technical expertise in network and voice infrastructure, supported by experience and qualifications.
  2. Understanding of how IT and voice networks impact business objectives.
  3. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  4. Excellent communication skills; customer-focused, adaptable, and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Good understanding of network and voice infrastructure.
  6. Recognised IT networking qualification or equivalent experience.
  7. Detailed knowledge of networking protocols and standards.
  8. Full UK driving licence and ability to travel as required, sometimes outside normal hours.
