Direct message the job poster from Ca SE Civil and Structural Engineering Talent Acquisition Partner | Infrastructure, Engineering & Construction | Building High Performing Teams across Australia, The UK & The Middle East Senior Traffic Engineer Sydney | Permanent We're supporting a growing traffic team looking to hire a Senior Traffic Engineer to help deliver complex traffic staging and design solutions across major infrastructure projects.
This is a hands-on role focused on both design and delivery, with involvement in pre-contracts, tenders, and on-ground project setup.
The ideal candidate will bring both consulting and contractor-side experience, with the ability to lead packages, shape traffic management concepts, and contribute to building a traffic capability that supports Tier One contractors.
Key Responsibilities Lead and contribute to traffic staging and temporary traffic management design Support pre-contract and tender phase traffic inputs Work closely with delivery teams to set up traffic strategies on major projects Engage with clients and site teams to ensure alignment of traffic management with delivery methodologies Mentor junior engineers and help shape team capability Combine engineering design with real-world constructability thinking What We're Looking For10+ years of experience in traffic engineering Strong understanding of traffic management, staging, signals, and road/network operations Proven project delivery and/or project management experience (preferably with a contractor or consultant-to-contractor)Solid working knowledge of road design, including temporary traffic layouts and barrier systems Proficient in Auto CAD and SIDRAPWZTMP (NSW) and/or TMD (QLD) accreditation Accredited Road Safety Auditor (preferred)Chartered status or actively working towards it Desire to work in a smaller, agile team where you'll have end-to-end project impact Why Join?Take ownership of design and delivery packages on landmark infrastructure projects Be part of a team rebuilding traffic capability from the ground up Exposure to a mix of tender, site, and client-side work Flexible team, fun culture, real engineering challenges If you're ready to step up, lead, and leave your mark on major infrastructure delivery, we'd love to hear from you.
