Overview

CARE Veterinary Hospital is a 24-hour, multi-disciplinary emergency and referral hospital in Melbourne, Australia. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Manager to join our team in a frontline leadership and management role. This position combines clinical responsibilities with management of the ECC department and the veterinary ECC team, working closely with the Head of Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) to develop the service.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head of ECC in the administration and management of the ECC department.
  • Develop and support the ECC team, including roster and leave management.
  • Liaise with clients, referring veterinarians and hospital staff; perform clinical duties as part of a 50/50 role.
  • Facilitate and maintain high standards of ECC/ICU care and contribute to all aspects of ECC workflow in a supportive environment.
Must Have
  • A veterinary degree registrable in Victoria.
  • A proven history of leading a team of veterinarians in a senior veterinary capacity.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Commitment to being a team player, good communicator and contributing to a positive workplace environment.
Desirable
  • Membership of the Australian & New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Emergency & Critical Care or an equivalent international body.
  • Management training (formal or CPD) and experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience using RxWorks and SmartFlow veterinary software.
