Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Senor Consultant, focused on Australia's Carbon market (demand & supply segments), possessing a Commercial Advisory background. A part of CORE Markets\' Sydney or Melbourne teams, you will be responsible for the following:

Being a member of a 3–4-person project team with the following responsibilities:

  • providing advice on project commercialisation to Carbon project developers
  • identity & types of ACCU buyers, value / risks of different project investment approaches, and interaction with capital raising (the latter working in collaboration with our Financial Advisory practice)
  • running competitive processes to offtake ACCUs (buy- or sell-side), including soliciting, shortlisting & then recommending offtake buy / sell offers
  • owning our proprietary ACCU price forecast model & related scenario analyses
  • providing Carbon sector expertise into our burgeoning Financial Advisory business
  • focusing on Client project delivery and execution
  • supporting business development as and where needed (e.g., proposal and pitch development), as directed by CORE Markets management team, and;
  • mentoring / coaching junior members of your project teams (Analysts & Consultants)
Qualifications
  • 4-6 years' relevant experience in Australia\'s Carbon sector, working with and for carbon project developers on project commercialisation, and/or Safeguards Mechanism liable entities and / or other buyers of ACCUs
  • Experience of foreign Carbon markets (especially Asian) is desired but not essential
  • Strong project delivery & project management skills
  • Strong quantitative skills (MS Excel is fine, programming experience is welcome but not essential for the role) and excellent analytical & problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written) with diverse stakeholders, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience in consulting / advisory is desired but not essential
  • Team-oriented individual with a proactive mindset and a self-starter approach to work
