Are you an ambitious accounting professional looking to broaden your skills and gain exposure across all facets of finance and administration? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team and support our accountants and senior staff in delivering accurate and timely financial outcomes.

About the Role

This position offers exposure to a wide range of accounting functions, from reporting and reconciliations to accounts payable/receivable, budget preparation and month-end processes. You will work closely with the finance team, supporting business operations and ensuring compliance with company policies and WH&S standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports (including labour efficiency reports)
  • Assist with stock control, cycle counts and stocktakes
  • Raise purchase orders for major repairs and CAPEX and maintain supporting documentation
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing
  • Prepare and post journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
  • Assist with month-end close and preparation of management/financial reports
  • Investigate discrepancies and liaise with the Financial Accountant on variances
  • Contribute to budget and forecast preparation
  • Perform ad hoc administrative and accounting tasks as required
  • Promote and adhere to WH&S policies and workplace safety practices
About You

You are an analytical and proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and values accuracy and efficiency.

Essential skills and experience
  • Graduate-level qualification in Accounting/Finance (CPA/CA preferred but not essential)
  • Strong accounting, finance, and analytical skills with critical thinking ability
  • Exposure to ERP systems
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word (intermediate to advanced)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
