Overview

Senior Mental Health Clinician, Community Mental Health – St George Mental Health Service. NSW Health. Location: Kogarah, Sydney. Hours per week: 19. Employment type: Permanent Part Time. Position classifications include Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1, Occupational Therapist Level 3, Psychologist, and Social Worker Level 3. Join a dynamic service providing coordination of care to consumers with complex mental illnesses and rehabilitation needs. As a senior clinician, you will work closely with the clinical manager to provide leadership and mentorship within the team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for consumers with complex mental illnesses and rehabilitation needs.
• Provide leadership and mentorship within the clinical team.
• Engage with performance improvement activities and contribute to policy development where applicable.
• Collaborate with other health professionals to deliver consumer-focused care in a community setting.
• Utilise mental health outcome and assessment tools to inform care models and service development.

Qualifications and requirements

• Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award; current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for AASW membership, or equivalent qualifications for Psychology with registration with the Psychologists Board of Australia; or current Authority to Practice and current NSW Registered Nurse registration with relevant post-registration experience and qualifications; or other equivalent qualifications.
• Experience in mental health with a consumer-focused recovery-oriented approach.
• Experience leading quality improvement activities including policy development.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Advanced practice skills in assessment and management of complex mental health clients in a community setting.
• Experience with mental health outcome tools and data in care model development and review.
• Experience in clinical supervision and support of clinical staff.
• Hold a current NSW Drivers Licence.

Location and work context

You will be working in the St George Adult Mental Health Service, Kirk Place, Kogarah, in one of the care coordination teams.
