Role Overview

Use your hands-on conservation and project management skills in objects and outdoor heritage to contribute to the conservation of important cultural assets. Based at our Sydney labs, you will undertake conservation treatments and manage projects across various site and lab-based settings.

International Conservation Services (ICS) is Australia's largest private conservation practice, conserving a wide range of cultural and heritage objects including paintings, furniture, textiles, paper, sculpture, archaeological artefacts, and wall finishes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform conservation treatments and develop methodologies in collaboration with team members
  • Quote and undertake technical aspects of conservation work
  • Plan and manage projects, including budgeting and scheduling
  • Coordinate subcontractors and liaise with clients
  • Prepare reports, tenders, and submissions
  • Maintain WHS standards and foster good client relationships
Team and Projects

The team works on conservation projects for public institutions, private clients, and corporate entities, covering heritage sites, sculptures, monuments, artworks, and archaeological artefacts. They also provide condition assessments, maintenance plans, and treatment proposals.

Ideal Candidate
  • Hands-on conservation experience, especially with public art or building conservation
  • Strong commitment to ethical practice and ICS values
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and safety-conscious
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in a professional conservation organization
  • Australian citizenship or residency and a valid driver's license
