The role & you

Mid Coast Council is seeking a Works Supervisor to join our Operations North team, based at our Gloucester depot. The position will report directly to the Works Engineer (Construction & Maintenance) and will be responsible for coordinating work crews in the effective service delivery of:

  • Construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, footpaths, cycleways, and stormwater drainage networks
  • Providing construction and maintenance services to transport assets
  • Delivering planned maintenance programs
  • Delivering capital works projects
  • Emergency/disaster response and repair (responding to emergencies and natural disaster damage on transport assets, including repairs)

To apply for this position, you must hold a minimum of Certificate III in Civil Construction or have relevant experience, and possess working knowledge of road, drainage, and bridge construction and maintenance.

The successful applicant will also:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, such as communication, delegation, and people management
  • Be committed to achieving organizational outcomes through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Have a sound working knowledge of WHS requirements in construction and maintenance and contribute to the implementation of Council's safety culture values
  • Display effective time-management and problem-solving capabilities
  • Be able to participate in the "on call" rotating roster

Salary: The commencing salary package ranges from approximately $85,900 to $103,150 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.

Location: This position is based at our Works Depot on Oak Street, Gloucester, with possible requirements to work from other Council sites across the MidCoast region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full-Time.
