We are currently seeking a proactive and dedicated Safety Advisor to join our team

This is a hands-on role, working closely on site with site management to provide guidance, support, and continuous improvement across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments and identify workplace hazards, implementing control measures to mitigate risks.
  • Policy and Procedure Compliance: Oversee the consistent application of safety procedures, ensuring alignment with best practice standards.
  • Training and Development: Deliver safety training, support the development of training packages, and maintain accurate training records.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations into incidents and near-misses, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend preventative actions.
  • Auditing and Inspection: Carry out routine inspections and internal audits to maintain compliance and drive improvements.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Assist in the development of emergency response procedures and facilitate drills to ensure readiness.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain detailed health and safety records, analyse performance data, and identify trends to inform future strategy.
  • Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisory Support: Provide expert safety advice across the organisation, stay up to date with Work, Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and industry changes.
  • Promoting Safety Culture: Champion health and safety awareness across all levels of the business through communication, initiatives, and leadership.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to manage safety outcomes and represent the company in WHS-related forums.

Qualifications/skills

  • Diploma or Cert IV in Work Health and Safety or significant demonstrated industry experience in an HSE role (essential)
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessing (essential)
  • Minimum two years in a safety advisory role, ideally within an SMP or related industrial environment.
  • Construction White Card (essential).
  • C Class Driver's Licence (essential).
  • Recent certification in Working at Heights and Confined Space (within two years).
  • High-Risk Work Licences – DG, RB, LF (desirable).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Solid analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
