Ryman is on a bold growth journey, redefining retirement living through innovation, purpose, and care. We're seeking a General Manager - Marketing & Brand to drive strategic marketing and branding efforts across New Zealand and Australia.

You'll be at the forefront of evolving how we market, how we work, and how we connect with our customers.

About The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Customer and Technology Officer, you'll lead a multi-disciplinary marketing team and manage a complex budget. This role can be based in Auckland or Christchurch or Melbourne. You'll be responsible for shaping and executing marketing strategies that deliver measurable commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing Innovation & Performance: Champion marketing innovation and deliver high-impact, performance-driven campaigns across digital and traditional channels.
  • Brand Leadership & Storytelling: Evolve Ryman's brand narrative, positioning, and identity to deepen customer connection and drive preference.
  • Customer Insights: Leverage data and insights to inform strategy, optimise spend, and enhance engagement.
  • Partnerships & Sponsorships: Build strategic relationships that amplify brand reach and community impact.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire and develop a high-performing team across NZ and AU, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.

What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience leading marketing in a complex consumer organisation.
  • Direct accountability for B2C marketing strategy and execution, with a strong commercial lens.
  • Experience managing significant marketing budgets and delivering ROI-driven campaigns.
  • A track record of leading brand transformation and change, including organisational design and new ways of working.
  • Passion for marketing innovation, with a forward-thinking approach to digital, data, and emerging technologies.
  • A dynamic leadership style—energetic, hungry, and growth-oriented.
