• For 1 year, you will receive an isolation bonus of AUD$3,500. If you stay for 2 years, you will get AUD$10,500. For your 3rd year (and every year after that), you will receive AUD$7,000.
• In your downtime, we provide 2 return airfares per year (including spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city, in conjunction with your recreation leave; of which we offer 5 weeks per year with a 17.5% loading/bonus.
• Base salary ranges between $107,960 and $115,604 per annum (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1).
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
• Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.
• Tax savings options through salary sacrificing are available.

About the role

This is a permanent full-time position. Applications will be assessed regularly throughout the campaign.

The Lactation Consultant, working within Mount Isa Hospital's Midwifery Service, will support breastfeeding by educating women, families, health professionals, and the community about lactation and artificial feeding. The role provides specialized services across the health continuum.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary degree and registration/licenses as a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Registered Midwife (RM).
• Current IBCLC certification.
• Postgraduate qualification or enrollment in a relevant postgraduate program is highly desirable.
• Travel to various facilities within the North West Hospital and Health Service may be required.
• C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
• Pre-employment screening, including Criminal History checks.
• Evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis may be required.
• A probation period may apply.
