About the role

Reporting to the Warehouse and Logistics Manager, the Logistics Lead is responsible for coordinating with Altona warehouse and team ensure efficient and timely management of deliveries into and out of the warehouses. Increasing delivery accuracy and subsequent DIFOT by ensuring stock integrity, pick accuracy, and proper procedures. Provide an effective and reliable service to customers whilst meeting all legal, safety & quality requirements. Provide adequate ad hoc coverage of duties when required to assist the team.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee daily transport activities across internal sites and external 3PL partners, ensuring efficient and reliable execution with an emphasis on DiFOT.
• Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve supply chain issues, implementing corrective actions and preventative solutions.
• Lead the planning, coordination, and monitoring of transport to meet customer delivery requirements, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
• Monitor pallet usage and reconciliation, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and cost control.
• Prepare reports and provide insights on performance, risks, and opportunities to supply chain leadership.
• Lead the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process with carriers and vendors, ensuring competitive and reliable service solutions.
• Negotiate, implement, and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with carriers, vendors, and 3PL partners to drive service consistency and compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, introducing best practices and efficiency measures to optimise cost, service, and performance outcomes.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with transport providers, 3PL partners, and internal stakeholders to achieve optimal supply chain performance.
• Work closely with senior management, sales, customer service, and operations teams to ensure alignment between supply chain activities and business requirements.

About you

The ideal candidate will have been working within an FMCG environment a minimum of 5 years, working across similar roles resolving operational challenges.

• Previous RFQ and SLA negotiations experience
• Implemented change within logistics networks driven by KPI results/tracking
• Calm and helpful under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent planning skills & attention to detail
• Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders (internally & externally)
• Good IT skills, in particular Microsoft suite of products and transport management systems
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and numerical skills
