The Role

The successful candidate will be a Science Primary School Teacher and part of our Two Way Science Team who fosters supportive, positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. The ideal applicant will have in-depth knowledge of the Western Australian Science Curriculum and its practical application. As a science educator, prioritising student curiosity, a passion for Science, and encouraging critical and creative thinking from Pre-Primary to Year 6 will be key. The role requires strong skills in creative and critical thinking, and the use of inquiry-based, hands-on teaching methods, along with excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities to collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.

Mobility and Eligibility

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers: Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the end of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can return to their substantive role or transfer permanently into this school. Find out if you are eligible on IKON.

  • Note that south west teachers are not eligible to move to another south west school under this trial.

Eligibility

  • Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information is on our website.

  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
