We also accredit VET courses to make sure nationally approved standards are met.

About the Opportunities

To deliver on this purpose, ASQA is seeking APS4 candidates who have skill sets that match any of the following business areas.
APS4 Service Delivery Officer – Service Delivery Team
Service Delivery Officers (SDOs) work in a fast-paced environment and engage with a diverse customer base. The role requires someone who is proactive and efficient, with great customer service skills. As an SDO you will operate with limited direction to action moderately complex enquiries and administrative tasks.
Service Delivery Officers are responsible for a range of tasks including but not limited to:
- Managing interactions professionally, responding accurately to phone and written enquiries about regulatory and compliance matters, providing technical support to external system users and responding to student enquiries
- Answering tip off calls, eliciting relevant information and accurately recording the intelligence received
- Performing a range of administrative tasks, including contributing to team projects and developing internal guides, while working independently with limited supervision
APS4 Assessment Officer – Performance Monitoring and Compliance Management
Assessment Officers provide administrative and operational support to the Performance Monitoring, Compliance and Operational teams within the team.
This role involves assisting with the assessment of Registered Training Organisations and their compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
Key responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Providing general administrative assistance to the assessment team, including scheduling, document management, maintaining records and preparation of assessment reports
- Assisting with the assessment of Registered Training Organisations (RTO) against the relevant standards and legislation
- Ensuring that all regulatory activities are conducted in accordance with ASQA's policies and procedures
APS4 Assessment Officer – Registrations Management and Assessment
The Assessment Officer assists the Registration Management and Assessment (RMA) Team by undertaking routine processing of registration applications and providing general support.
Under supervision, Assessment Officers in the RMA team are responsible for a range of tasks and duties including:
- Undertaking a structured risk assessment of provider applications under the NVETR Act and/or ESOS Act and assessing further evidence where applicable
- Undertaking structured risk assessment of the potential impact of changes to regulated providers' operations, ownership and/or management personnel
- Undertaking a structured assessment of fit and proper person suitability
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team, provide support to colleagues as required, and support the management of change consistent with ASQA Values.
- Ability to understand best practice regulation and manage risks proportionately in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential commercial and personal information with integrity and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively, flexibly, and collaboratively with stakeholders, and to build trusted relationships and partnerships.
- High level written and oral communication skills, including an ability to prepare advice to senior management and other written material for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated self-awareness and a commitment to personal development, including the ability to understand and act on constructive feedback positively.

Eligibility to apply
- Under Section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian Citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing, to the contrary.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks including a Federal Police Check and obtain a minimum Baseline Security Clearance (if they do not already hold a clearance).
These positions are available as an ongoing or non-ongoing opportunities. Non-ongoing opportunities will be offered for an initial fixed term period of up to 12 months, with the potential to be extended further or to becoming ongoing.
This selection process may be used to establish a merit pool. The merit pool may be accessed to fill ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies for similar roles within ASQA or across the APS over the next 18 months.
