Kah Lawyers is one of Western Sydney's leading boutique Immigration law firms and is based in ParramattaCBD. Our principal lawyer is an accredited specialist in Immigration Law and has over 30 years' experience.

Our firm provides legal advice in all immigration matters including partner, employer sponsored, independent, skilled, family and refugee visas, cancellations and complex matters including ART and Federal Court work.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic Law student/paralegal/PLT student to join our busy practice. This is a part time position for the right candidate.

This will be a varied and busy position working alongside friendly co-workers. You will be providing administrative assistance to the firm and must be able to work up to 3 to 4 days per week. Business hours will be 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • You will be involved in all aspects of law within the immigration portfolio
  • Meeting and greeting clients
  • Assist the solicitors with administration tasks like opening/creating files, photocopying, scanning, sorting and collating documents
  • Assist the solicitors with managing clients' files from beginning to the end of the visa process
  • Liaising with clients over the phone and email enquiries especially via our website and social media platforms
  • Assist the solicitors with drafting submissions and researching relevant legislation and case law
  • Assist the solicitors with court proceedings in Australia's Federal Circuit Court and Federal Court
  • Assist cases concerning Conveyancing, Wills and Estate and Probates work
  • Making appointments, diary management for Principal and online booking management

Requirements:

  • Previous Paralegal experience in a law firm (preferred)
  • Previous Immigration legal study is an advantage
  • Ability to think on your feet and use own initiative to troubleshoot issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-presented and punctual
  • A professional phone manner
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn
  • Experience with using Microsoft suites and Microsoft Team software is an advantage
  • Fluency in another language
