Help Protect the World's Biggest Social Justice Movements

Role: Risk Analyst

Location: Australia, remote

Type: Full-time

Chuffed.org is a global crowdfunding platform powering the world's biggest social justice movements. We've helped raise over $200M across 35,000 campaigns in 23 countries — and we're just getting started.

In the last year we've grown 3x and become the go-to platform for activists and organisations in two of the biggest social justice movements of our times; Palestine and climate justice.

We're now hiring a Risk Analyst to help our Trust and Safety function make Chuffed the most trusted crowdfunding platform globally.

About The Role

Your primary function is to ensure the integrity of campaigns on Chuffed. This involves three functions: detecting campaigns that present risk signals, investigating campaigns to ensure compliance with our requirements and systematizing learnings into new detection and investigation protocols.

Here's what you'll do:

Detect campaign risks:
  • Conduct reviews of new fundraising campaigns to identify potential upcoming risks
  • Monitor existing fundraising campaigns for risk signals
  • Monitor donation pattern models to flag potential emergent risks

Investigate flagged campaigns:
  • Review and analyze community complaints regarding potential fraudulent activity
  • Providing empathetic email and occasional phone support to customers and other stakeholders to ensure fundraiser authenticity

Systematize learnings
  • Continuously improve the automated detection systems and processes
  • Provide feedback and improvements for our campaign investigation process
  • Provide input and feedback into product improvements to manage risk on the platform

Requirements

What We're Looking For

We care more about your mindset than your resume. If you recognise yourself in the traits below, we want to hear from you:
  • You've got solid experience (3-5+ years) in a fraud, risk, trust & safety, or payments role
  • You have experience or familiarity with customer due diligence, AML/CTF/ KYC regulations
  • You have strong analytical or pattern-detection skills with a process-oriented, curious mindset

You have a high level of empathy, integrity, and professionalism when interacting with customers and team members

Don't Meet Every Requirement?

That's ok - we're not checking boxes here. If you're excited by the mission and think you'd be great in this role, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits

What You'll Get
  • $130-150K + super
  • Do work that matters. Wake up each day knowing that you're using your skills and talent to advance the most pressing social justice movements across the world, and protecting the donors and campaigners behind them.

  • Work from anywhere in Australia. We're a fully remote team whose focus is on outcomes. We're open to you working how you work best
  • Grow fast. We're in a high-growth phase, and you'll be trusted with big ideas, real ownership, and the chance to shape the direction of the platform
  • Join a values-aligned workplace. We're building a diverse, inclusive team, and we strongly encourage people from all backgrounds and lived experiences to apply.
