The Traineeship Program Coordinator (50D) is responsible for coordinating the Indigenous Health Workforce Traineeship (IHWT) Program across Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) in Western Australia.

The IHWT Program aims to:

  1. Increase the number of skilled Aboriginal people working in the Aboriginal health care sector;
  2. Create viable career pathways in the health and community services sector for Aboriginal people;
  3. Build the capacity of ACCHS to provide culturally appropriate health care to Aboriginal people.

Note: Aboriginality is an essential criterion under Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA).

We are seeking candidates with:

  1. Experience in program/project administration, recruitment, training, or related fields;
  2. Understanding of the vocational education and training (VET) sector and qualifications delivered by Registered Training Organisations (RTOs);
  3. Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and good time management;
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  5. Ability to plan and coordinate workload effectively;
  6. Strong written communication skills for drafting correspondence, editing documents, and writing reports.

Additional requirements include:

  • An unrestricted WA "C" Class Driver's Licence;
  • Submission of a recent National Police Clearance (within 3 months);
  • Legal entitlement to work in Australia, evidenced by documents such as an Australian passport or birth certificate.

This role involves working within a multicultural organization where most employees, clients, and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Candidates must demonstrate understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communicate sensitively and effectively.
