Responsibilities:
- Cooks prepare, season and cook food in the kitchen.
- Preparing and cooking food, seasoning and portioning dishes as per the Menu of the Hemani Mehmi Indian Restaurant.
- Preparing ingredients as per the Chef instructions and requirement on a daily basis.
- Examining food to ensure quality.
- Seasoning food during cooking.

Qualifications/Skills:
- Relevant qualifications with minimum 2 years professional working experience as a Cook in fast paced Indian Restaurant.
- Holds a trade qualification of Certificate III in Cookery or higher.
- Ability to focus in a pressured environment and manage the team effectively.

Euro Cafe in NSW is looking for a passionate kitchen staff to join our team.
- Physical set up and operation of the wash up area and thorough clean down area at the end of shift
- Ensuring all kitchen equipment, dishes, cutlery and glasses are cleaned
- Assisting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation
- Performing basic kitchen tasks such as peeling, cutting, and washing vegetables
- Supplementing food via herbs, spices, and/or salts, intended to enhance a particular flavour.

- Receiving and checking deliveries, ensuring items are stored correctly
- Effectively regulate the temperature of cooking equipment (e.g.- ovens, grills, and other)

- Can train the staff/apprentices if required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook role, preferably in a sandwich bar, café, or restaurant.
- Passion for food and creating unique dishes and starters.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Creativity and a willingness to experiment with new ingredients and flavors.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

- Work with Cooks and other kitchen staffs for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies.
- Work with the Director to plan the menus that are flavourful and popular with customers.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation workers.
- Monitor and ensure food quality, quantity, taste and presentation are in accordance to the menu and customer preference at all times.
- Perform food preparation tasks and to check quality/presentation of orders to make sure food is cooked consistently and properly.
- Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time.
- Ensure kitchen is kept to a high standard by providing a clean, hygienic environment for the preparation and delivery of meals
- Assist the Director to conduct recruitment activities for cook and other food preparation workers including making shortlist, interview and selecting candidates
- Stock and maintain adequate levels of food product at line stations.
- Advise on cooking methods and practices.
- Assist and support the Director in routine and specific tasks.
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen.
