New Graduate Physiotherapist - 2 Year Development Program - Targeted

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for 2026 First Year Graduates (FYG) to join the Physiotherapy team at John Hunter Hospital (JHH) to gain valuable experience across a broad range of clinical areas in an acute hospital setting. The successful graduates will be offered a 24-month contract consisting of 8 rotations of three (3) months through core physiotherapy areas, with a 3-month secondment in the first and second year to Maitland and Manning Base Hospital (Taree). Accommodation and travel time is provided during the Taree secondment. There will be opportunities for further employment at JHH for staff wishing to remain on after the 24-month contract.

Where You'll Be Working

Our Physiotherapy department provides services to John Hunter Hospital, Rankin Park Centre and Belmont Hospital, with a secondment program to John Hunter Children's Hospital and HNELHD regional and rural sites.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, patient-centred and high-quality physiotherapy services in an acute hospital setting.
  • Contribute to a supportive, dynamic team environment and participate in 8 rotations and 3-month secondments as scheduled.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration across clinical areas and sites.
Qualifications
  • Qualifications recognised for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and hold general registration (or be eligible) with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia via AHPRA.
  • Strong undergraduate academic record with a current academic transcript (including GPA and Placement APP assessments) as part of the online application.
Eligibility & Visa
  • Must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia.
  • Temporary visa holders may be considered only in line with visa conditions and expiry dates; NSW Health cannot sponsor visas for this position.
