The role & you

We are currently seeking a Water & Sewer Investigations Engineer to join our Water & Systems Team at MidCoast Council. This role is within the Water Planning & Assets department of the Infrastructure and Engineering Services Division and involves providing engineering expertise regarding water and sewerage system defects, failures, and issues.

Key responsibilities include :

• Coordinating and undertaking investigations using root cause analysis, site visits, and stakeholder consultation.
• Providing high-quality water and sewerage designs, cost estimates, and plans following industry best practices.
• Supporting the Water Asset Planning Coordinator with project management services for water and sewerage planning and design.
• Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

We seek an individual capable of developing and maintaining constructive relationships and contributing to organisational goals. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline, with demonstrated knowledge of hydraulic design and water/sewerage system functions.

This pivotal role requires a positive, self-motivated professional who can work collaboratively within a dynamic team to make a difference in our community.

Salary : Base salary $94,500 p.a. - $113,400 p.a. (negotiable based on qualifications, skills, and experience)

• Civil Liability Allowance (3.5% of base salary)
• Superannuation (12%)

Location : Based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya, 2 Biripi Way, Taree. Other locations across the MidCoast region may be required.

Tenure : Permanent, Full Time.
