QA Engineer (Growth) role at Heidi Health. Heidi is on a mission to halve the time it takes to deliver world-class care. We aim for clinicians to practice with AI systems that reduce administrative burdens and improve quality and accessibility of care globally. Built for clinicians, by clinicians, Heidi brings together a diverse team of inventors, builders, scientists, nurses, doctors, mathematicians, designers, creatives, and high-agency executors.
In 2021–2023 Heidi achieved rapid growth with milestones such as supporting 20 million patient consults in 12 months and currently powering more than 1 million consults every week. With recent funding, we are accelerating global growth (starting in the US, Canada, UK and Europe) and seek talented individuals to join us in delivering impact.
The Role
As a QA Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our products, impacting clinicians and patients alike. If you are a passionate problem-solver with strong manual and automation testing experience, a keen eye for detail, and a drive to improve healthcare, we want to hear from you
What you'll do
- Work with PM and Engineers to fill gaps in product requirements and prepare sufficient test scenarios covering edge cases before passing to engineers. Your QA mindset matters.
- Start with manual testing for a new feature and implement automation for that feature if possible.
- Build and maintain E2E testing frameworks: design, develop, and execute automated tests using JS, focusing on Web, mobile, and performance testing.
- Own the testing process: write and execute test cases, contribute to customer-facing documentation and bug reporting.
- Dive into user experience: develop automated tests for end-to-end user flows for our clinical AI products to ensure a seamless and intuitive experience.
- Master various testing methodologies: functional, regression, performance, etc., to identify and address issues.
- Develop and execute automated tests for systems integration across web, mobile, and portals.
- Translate requirements into action: analyze functional requirements and API specs to develop comprehensive automated test suites.
- Design and execute performance tests to identify bottlenecks and ensure responsive applications.
- Think strategically about risk: recognize potential product risks and design targeted testing strategies to mitigate them.
- Communicate testing outcomes clearly to management and stakeholders.
- Leverage test management, CI/CD, and issue tracking tools to streamline testing.
What we will look for
- 3–5 years of experience as an SDET with a strong understanding of software testing principles (e.g., Behavior Driven Development).
- Proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites/frameworks for E2E testing (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber, Appium, or similar).
- Experience in mobile testing (e.g., Appium) is a bonus.
- Performance testing experience is a bonus.
- Hands-on experience with systems integration testing for web, mobile, and portals.
- Ability to analyze functional requirements and API specs to create automated test suites.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify failure conditions.
- Intermediate SQL Server query skills for data analysis.
- Proactive identification of product risks and development of targeted testing strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to report testing outcomes to stakeholders.
- A passion for quality and a proactive, analytical mindset.
What do we believe in?
- We create unconventional solutions to difficult problems and build them fast. We aim to set ambitious goals and achieve them, thinking of medical-scale rocket-like impact.
- You'll join a world-class team of engineers, medicos and designers to do your best work, guided by shared beliefs:
- We will stop at nothing to improve patient care worldwide.
- We design user experiences for joy and ship them quickly.
- We make decisions in a flat hierarchy that values truth over rank.
- We provide resources for people to succeed and give them freedom to do it.
Why you will flourish with us?
- Flexible hybrid working environment, with 3 days in the office.
- Additional paid day off for your birthday and wellness days.
- Special corporate rates at Anytime Fitness in Melbourne and Sydney (TBC).
- A generous personal development budget of $500 per annum.
- Learn from top engineers and creatives in a diverse team.
- Opportunity to gain equity in the company if Heidi succeeds.
- Opportunity to create a global impact, as part of Australia's leading healthtech startup.
- Potential for fast-tracked startup career if you demonstrate impact quickly.
Help us reimagine primary care and change healthcare in Australia and beyond.
