THE ROLE

Applications are sought from an experienced Electrician / Instrument Technician to join the team at Ora Banda.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Work towards planned maintenance and inspection activities on a daily basis to maintain all fixed plant and site infrastructure
  • Inspect and test electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment and repair
  • Assist in the development of maintenance plans
  • Assist in planning for shutdowns
  • Provide electrical service for unplanned maintenance and breakdowns
  • Undertake fault finding and take corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical regulations, industry standards and statutory requirements
  • Ensure that plant and equipment is maintained to a high level of availability
  • Support the maintenance planning function by providing accurate information via completion of work orders and inspection reports and other relevant feedback
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Supply personnel on electrical purchasing and stock items
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the processing and metallurgy personnel to ensure optimum equipment performance and availability
  • Ensure that all workshop, facilities and equipment is maintained in good working order
  • Provide mentoring and supervision of junior maintenance and trades assistant personnel
  • Attend to breakdowns and call outs as required
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained within the manufacturers' specifications
  • Complete Electrical Log book
ABOUT YOU

To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • WA Electrical Workers Licence - A Grade
  • Dual Electrical Trades and Instrument Technician qualified (highly regarded)
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar fixed plant role in a mining environment
  • Good working knowledge of relevant electrical legislation and standards
  • Strong instrumentation background including the calibration and maintenance of control systems
  • Competent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment and instrumentation
  • High level of electrical fault finding skills
  • Ability to conduct risk assessment and manage risk
  • High Voltage Switching Certificate
  • Computer literacy skills (Pronto highly regarded)
  • Industry certificates, including High Risk Work License, Elevated Work Platform, Forklift (LF), WAH and Confined Spaces desirable
  • A current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence
