Job Purpose

The Workshop Technician's primary duty is to execute Service Orders, which include mechanical, hydraulics, and occasionally electrical maintenance and testing scopes of work. This encompasses client-owned equipment supplied by TechnipFMC, third-party equipment, or TFMC-owned rental equipment.

Job Description

  • Execute scopes of work described in Service Orders, including inspecting, servicing, and preserving subsea oilfield equipment.
  • The majority of work involves mechanical fitting, functionality testing, hydraulic flushing, and testing.
  • Ensure all areas are organized and prepared for the following day's needs, such as proper storage of work and ensuring equipment is left in a safe condition.
  • Handle material movement using forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
  • Support the Workshop Supervisor in performing ad hoc workshop-related tasks as required.
  • Perform detailed documentation with high accuracy, including recording inspection findings, test records, and completing test procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of assembly and testing workshop experience related to mechanical and/or hydraulic tooling and equipment, preferably in a petroleum industry environment.
  • Experience working on subsea drilling, well completions, well access, and/or controls equipment is highly desirable.
  • Experience operating overhead/gantry cranes.
  • Strong understanding of good workshop practices and safety awareness.
  • Offshore experience is a plus.

Job Qualifications

  • Mechanical/Electrical trades certificate – preferred.
  • Forklift license.
  • Rigging or dogging license.
  • Working safely at heights license – preferred.
  • Electronic work platform license.
  • Qualified first aider.
