Location: Port Kembla Community Preschool, Port Kembla NSW
Employment Type: Full-time, Maximum-term role (18 months)

About Big Fat Smile We are a not-for-profit organisation with 40+ community preschools, long day care centres, and various programs. We are committed to giving every child the best start in life and support professional learning and growth for our educators.

Right now, we're looking for an Early Childhood Trainee at Port Kembla Community Preschool. You will earn while you learn and work towards your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. In this role you will work with and be supported by an experienced team of educators and teachers, educating and caring for children aged 0–5. We do not require prior skills or qualifications, but you do need a passion for working with children and a commitment to a career in the sector.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Educate and care for children aged 0–5
  • Work with an experienced team of educators and teachers
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
What you need to succeed
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • No formal qualifications or prior experience required
  • You need to be able to work full-time hours
  • Must be able to obtain a Working with Children Check (for paid work in NSW)
  • Be passionate about creating better outcomes for local children, families and communities
  • Commit to ensuring the children in our care are safe and healthy
