Reporting to the newly appointed Chief People Officer, the Manager of People, Safety and Operations will be responsible for providing strategic leadership across a broad portfolio, including Payroll, Data and Systems, People & Partnerships, Safety, Return to Work, and Talent Acquisition. This also includes industrial and employee relations (IR / ER), organisational capability, and broader human resources functions. Serving as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team, the role will support the Chief People Officer in delivering the People and Culture strategy, while leading a multi-functional team to drive operational excellence across the People and Culture landscape.
To be successful in this role, you will be an analytical thinker with a track record managing high performing teams. With tertiary qualifications in a related field, you will have a strong foundation in IR / ER policies and practices, and a proven ability to lead the development and implementation of complex and sensitive projects, ideally in the local government or broader public sector environment. With a mix of operational and strategic experience, you can effectively coach organisational leaders to support and implement change and drive excellence in performance. You have proven experience uplifting OH&S practices and embedding safety cultures and enjoy working through complexity at pace.
