Overview

The Lindsay Group operates an extensive Rural and National Transport and Logistics business across multiple locations, connecting growers, regional communities and businesses with cities and sellers of fresh food across Australia. Lindsay Transport is the largest transporter of fresh produce in Australia, specialising in temperature-sensitive, time-slotted freight into Central Markets and major Grocery Distribution Centres. Lindsay Rural and the Hunters business provide essential services and products to rural Australia across most Australian growing regions. The group employs over 1,800 people, with roughly 35% based in Regional Australia, and services over 1.5 million tonnes of temperature-controlled freight every year across the country.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the Chiller section of our Brisbane warehouse, located in Acacia Ridge. This is a day shift position, working Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. You will supervise a team of up to 20 staff and be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

  • Oversee the warehouse floor, forklift drivers and stock on site.
  • Coordinate the loading, unloading, handling and consolidation of perishable goods.
  • Ensure all timeslot requirements are met.
  • Timely completion of paperwork and reporting.
  • Lead staff hands-on and by example.
  • Ensure the safe conduct of operations in the workplace.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar supervisory role in a warehouse environment.
  • Inventory management.
  • Current and valid forklift licence.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to manage staff effectively.
  • Prior experience with loading and unloading of freight, ideally perishable goods.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with good attention to detail.
  • Flexibility, resilience with the ability to work with ever-changing priorities.
  • Solid computer skills.
  • Well-developed communication skills.
  • Pass a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment including drug and alcohol test.
