Where you'll be working:

Join the New England North West Mental Health Service (NENW MHS) in a newly created, high-impact leadership role that offers the rare opportunity to shape the future of mental health services in rural NSW. Based in either Tenterfield, Glen Innes, or Inverell (site negotiable), you'll work across the beautiful New England (NE) region supporting a passionate community mental health team spread across multiple locations including Armidale and Inverell.

About the role:

This brand-new Senior Clinical Psychologist – Clinical Team Leader position offers a unique dual focus:

  • Provide senior clinical leadership to support the delivery of best-practice, evidence-based mental health care across the region
  • Drive operational excellence by guiding daily service delivery, building team capability, and supporting a culture of innovation and compassion

As part of the leadership team, you'll work alongside the Community Manager, Clinical Coordinator, and the broader NENW MHS executive team to develop and grow a strong, collaborative, and future-ready service.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide expert psychological care and clinical supervision across NE community teams
  • Support and guide clinicians in Glen Innes and Tenterfield with on-the-ground leadership
  • Act as a key contact for operational and clinical escalation
  • Lead workforce planning and performance monitoring
  • Promote staff wellbeing and resilience through supportive leadership
  • Be the professional lead for Psychology across the broader NENW network

Requirements:

  • Degree providing eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association/full registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and willing to travel for work purposes.

  • * Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. Please note: if your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive.
