The Opportunity

We're looking for two experienced Tech Leads to join Nexl's growing Product & Engineering squads. As a Tech Lead, you'll sit at the intersection of engineering excellence and delivery. You'll be hands-on in the code while guiding technical direction, mentoring engineers, and working closely with the squad's Product Manager to ship impactful features. You'll own technical decisions within your squad, ensuring quality, scalability, and alignment with Nexl's wider architecture. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives on both building and leading. Someone who can still roll up their sleeves in the codebase, but also zoom out to bring clarity, structure, and direction to the squad.

Frontend: React & TypeScript

Backend: Ruby on Rails with GraphQL, and Python with WebSockets & Protobuf

What You'll Own & Do:

• Lead the technical direction of your squad (Marketing or AI), ensuring design and implementation decisions align with Nexl's overall architecture.
• Stay hands-on in the codebase, contributing to features and setting the quality bar.
• Mentor and support engineers in your squad, providing guidance, feedback, and coaching.
• Collaborate with your Product Manager to shape requirements, balance trade-offs, and prioritise technical debt alongside new features.
• Partner with Design, Product, and Engineering peers to ensure scalable, performant, and secure solutions.
• Drive best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Proactively identify risks, blockers, and opportunities to improve delivery.
• Be the squad's go-to technical point of contact for stakeholders and leadership.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Senior Engineer /Tech Lead in a scaling B2B SaaS company.
• Strong expertise in at least one part of our stack (React/TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, or Python).
• Comfortable balancing hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities.
• Track record of making sound architectural decisions and guiding teams through technical trade-offs.
• Experience working in cross-functional squads alongside Product Managers and Designers.
• Ability to mentor and grow engineers, raising the bar for quality and delivery.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
• Bonus: experience in AI/ML integration (for AI squad) or marketing automation / martech (for Marketing squad).
