Labourer (Parks - Rowes Bay)

Permanent Full Time opportunity available (9 day fortnight, 38 hours/week).

Salary: LGE 3 ($58,743 per annum + superannuation) with opportunity for overtime.

The Parks and Open Space Team provides delivery of maintenance activities related to Townsville's existing public infrastructure within parks, open spaces, including cemeteries. These areas provide a range of services including recreational and cultural activities for both residents and visitors across the Townsville Region.

These positions complete a range of assigned maintenance and functional activities which includes regular herbicide maintenance of open spaces, assisting other teams as required, planting, gardening, weeding, mulching. You will also drive manual light trucks which includes loading, unloading and tying down loads.

You'll need to be physically fit to perform the variety of work and be able to work in the outdoors in a hot environment.

You'll be part of a great working culture that is driven to have our parks and open spaces look fantastic and operate in a safe manner for the Community.

A variety of training is provided and there are ample opportunities to progress into other roles within the team.

This role works from our Rowes Bay Depot.

To be eligible to apply for these roles, you must have a Manual "C" class licence and a Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD).

Desirable skills and tickets are below. While these skills and tickets are desired, we are open to candidates who don't yet have these tickets but are eager to obtain them through Council:

• "MR" class licence
• Agricultural Chemical Distribution Certificate (ACDC) and a
• Traffic Management Implementation (TMI)
• First Aid Certificate
