Our dedicated Toolshop team provides essential in-house services including the design, fabrication, and maintenance of specialised tools and components that support our production operations. About The Role

We are seeking a keen and motivated Apprentice Fitter Toolmaker (Fitter & Turner) to join our Aluminium Products Toolroom in Eagle Farm. This is a hands-on, full-time role that supports your completion of a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade over the course of your apprenticeship.

As an apprentice, you'll gain comprehensive training across a wide range of workshop functions. You will be mentored by experienced tradespeople and will gradually take on more responsibility as your skills and knowledge develop.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the manufacture and maintenance of extrusion dies, jigs, and fixtures used in aluminium production
• Set up and operate CNC machines, lathes, mills, and other workshop equipment
• Carry out manual machining, drilling, grinding, and fitting tasks
• Use a range of precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, verniers) to ensure product accuracy
• Interpret and work from technical and engineering drawings
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of tools and machinery
• Follow workplace safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organised work environment
• Participate in structured on-the-job and off-site training as part of your trade qualification
  
  

About You

• Passionate about hands-on work, machinery, and mechanical systems
• Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and safety-conscious mindset
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings
• Team player with a willingness to learn and take direction
• Previous exposure to a workshop, TAFE program, or mechanical/engineering environment (desirable but not essential)
