Sr. Process Engineer

Opportunity Snapshot:

• Compensation: $60-65/hour
• Location: Pasadena, TX
• Work Schedule: 9/80
• Assignment Duration: 12 months+

• Lead project teams to define scope, goals and deliverables that support plant requirements
• Collaborate with key stakeholders (production, maintenance, HSSE, process controls, business representatives and others) as needed to leverage process and business knowledge to develop and implement capital projects
• Estimate project costs, submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes when necessary
• Track project costs and take corrective action as needed to maintain budgets
• Develop timelines and identify resource needs to execute the project on time and on budget
• Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones
• Evaluate quotes/bids provided by vendors / contractors to ensure they satisfy project requirements and provide the best value for the associated cost
• Develop any and all associated project documents including detailed list oof engineering and design specifications for deliverables outline in project scope; inquiry to bid (ITB) packages for contractors and EPC firms
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and other departments in a timely and clear fashion
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks and drive contingency plans.
• Lead problem solving efforts in support of business objectives as it relates to the development of capital projects.Seek innovative solutions and propose modifications to existing process problems.Use appropriate tools to assist in problem solving
• Work with key stakeholder to design new vessels, equipment, piping and instrumentation and/or evaluate existing installations in support of business objectives as it relates to development of capital projects.
• Select equipment, piping, electrical & instrumentation, civil, structural vendors and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Adhere to all safety policies on site
• Make recommendations for process / production and departmental improvements.
• Participate in continued learning initiatives
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervisor project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action.Mentor department interns and junior engineers as needed
• Must demonstrate the following emotional intelligence skills:Emotional Empathy,Positive Attitude, Excellent Communication Skills,Flexibility / Adaptability,Interpersonal Skills

• A BS or higher in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years of experience with the essential duties and responsibilities described above. 3+ years esperience in Project Management. PMP is preferred
• Experience with Process Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment Reviews
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Working knowledge of office productivity software, including spreadsheets and word processing
• Experience with standard operating procedures
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations, PSM/RMP
• High-level knowledge of process control software systems
• Experience working with AutoCAD as well as experience working with cGMP processes
• Experience working with boilers, compressors, chillers and cooling towers
