Overview

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, acting as a one-stop-shop for young people seeking support with mental health, drug and alcohol, primary health and vocational/educational issues. Each has been a leading agency since 2006, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25-year-olds across Australia, with support through over 145 communities, online and phone counselling, vocational services, and schools.

Our headspace Port Macquarie NSW team is seeking expressions of interest from Registered Psychologists with FULL AHPRA registration to provide private practice services and deliver focused psychological strategies to young people aged 12-25 that have been referred to headspace Port Macquarie.

What You'll Be Doing

You will provide high-standard, person-centered counselling and focused psychological strategies to young people with mental health concerns. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care.

As a contractor, you will have a referral base of young people who have been assessed and are ready to access services. In addition, you will be supported with:

  • Full administrative support (including reception, billings, appointment bookings and reminder service)
  • Fully web-based medical record software with IT support
  • Co-located General Practitioners
  • Access to Psychiatry services
Qualifications

We hope to hear from fully registered and experienced Psychologists who are passionate about making a difference to the health and wellbeing of young people.

The following criteria must be met to be considered for these positions:

  • Approved tertiary qualification in Psychology, with current unrestricted AHPRA registration
  • Eligibility to provide Medicare Benefits Schedule services
  • Willingness to undergo or provide full compliance documents including current Police Check, Working with Children's Check
  • Your own equipment (unless specified in your agreement)
  • Proof of professional indemnity insurance and ABN

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
