Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, the Field Service Plant Mechanic will join our Field Service team on a full-time permanent basis at our Port Hedland branch. This role provides comprehensive on-site support for a diverse range of CAT equipment across various industries.

Our team in Port Hedland specializes in repairing and maintaining Caterpillar equipment, from large mining machinery to marine equipment, while strengthening ongoing customer relationships.

Roster:

  • 14 days on, 7 off – 10 or 12 hrs each day plus 30 mins unpaid break
  • 12 days on, 9 off – 10 or 12 hrs each day plus 30 mins unpaid break
  • 10 days on, 4 off – 10 or 12 hrs each day plus 30 mins unpaid break (Residential)

What You'll Do:

  • Diagnose faults on Caterpillar equipment at customer sites
  • Carry out repairs, maintenance, and servicing of mining and marine machinery
  • Implement Product Improvement Plans and Support Programs
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Help customers achieve machine availability and reliability KPIs

Skills & Experience:

  • Australian Heavy Mobile Plant Trade Certificate with post-trade experience (Field Service)
  • Driver's License and LR license (mandatory)
  • HRWL (LF, DG, WP) & Working at Heights certifications
  • Refrigerant Handling License (preferred)
  • Experience with Caterpillar Mining Machinery and Marine equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills using CAT SIS & CAT ET
  • Ability to work under pressure in remote environments, both independently and in teams
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
