Cedars is a Prep to Year 12 independent private school with approximately 800 students located just 10 kilometres south of Wollongong in the heart of the beautiful Illawarra. Our commitment to education begins by surrounding our students in a safe and trusted environment, where Christian values are evident in all we do. We are currently inviting applications for the following position to work within our Information Technology department to commence as soon as possible.

IT Officer – Entry Level

A permanent part-time (0.6 FTE) position exists for an entry-level IT Officer to commence as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests, documenting and prioritizing issues based on severity and impact
  • Provide initial troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues for staff and students, including software, hardware, and network problems
  • Perform basic data entry and updates in our various systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with school policies
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with end-users, providing status updates and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Create and maintain detailed records of support requests, resolutions, and processes for future reference and analysis
  • Work closely with other IT staff to escalate more complex issues and ensure timely resolutions

Key Requirements:

  • Committed Christian, active in their own church
  • Preferably studying IT or a related field (TAFE, university, or online certification)
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions
  • Reliable and able to work independently once trained

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented person to join our IT department. This entry-level role is ideal for someone currently studying towards a qualification in Information Technology or a related field. No formal IT qualifications are required—just a willingness to learn, follow instructions, and support the IT team in day-to-day operations.

This position is based fully onsite.
