Join our Wills & Estates Litigation team as a Lawyer in our Sydney office on a full-time 12 month contract basis.

We are seeking a high performing Paralegal to join our leading Class Actions team on a 6-month fixed term contract on a part-time basis.

About the role

An opportunity has arisen for a part-time (3-4 days per week) Paralegal to join our Sydney Class Actions Team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This role will involve working with a team of senior Lawyers on high-profile class actions. The successful candidate will possess excellent legal research and writing skills, strong attention to detail, effective communications skills and a commitment to social justice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake legal research
  • Assist in managing communications with clients
  • Preparing briefs for counsel
  • Assist lawyers with the conduct of matters
  • Participate in Class Actions events/activities where appropriate

The experience we are looking for

  • Prior experience as a Paralegal is desirable but not essential
  • A strong academic background and/or experience in conducting complex legal research and writing
  • Excellent organisational skills, with meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel, updating databases, and/or manipulating data is advantageous
  • An understanding of our client base and the capacity to demonstrate empathy and compassion
  • Capability to prioritise tasks, adapt to a rapidly evolving environment, and demonstrate outstanding organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for law and an eagerness to contribute within a collaborative work setting
