We are seeking an experienced Property Paralegal Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. As a key member of our asset management team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of operational management across all assets in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide advice and assistance in the implementation of operational management of all assets across Australia and New Zealand, including maintaining accurate records of land parcels under management and associated property rights.
  2. Liaise with internal business units and external stakeholders as required to properly onboard assets under management and provide support for record updates.
  3. Bulk update of land records upon acquiring or selling assets and communicate with the New Forests Investments team, external legal advisors, and related stakeholders.
  4. Monitor compliance with relevant regulatory requirements relating to land ownership and forestry/agricultural management.
  5. Stay up-to-date with legal and regulatory changes in the asset management environment and provide recommendations on strategies to manage those changes.
  6. Review and adopt new technologies to assist in record keeping.
  7. Provide ongoing administrative support and undertake ad-hoc projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Solid experience as a paralegal with rural property or agribusiness experience preferred, across various legal jurisdictions within Australia or New Zealand.
  • Understanding of property law, rural and agricultural matters, water law, commodities, forestry, and carbon markets.
  • Strong understanding of standard FIRB reporting obligations.
  • Excellent drafting skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, including time management, multi-tasking, delegation, and prioritisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with people at various levels (internally and externally).
  • A team player who works well under pressure and deadlines.
  • An ability to work independently and take ownership of the role while supporting the wider team.
