Tesla Holdings, a Western Australian operator of power stations, is seeking a mature, self-driven individual to join our growing development team. You will work side-by-side with our existing project developer in bringing forward a pipeline of large-scale battery energy storage (BESS) and gas reciprocating projects. A junior developer role is also available for candidates earlier in their career.

About Tesla Holdings

Tesla Holdings currently operates four peaking power plants in Western Australia. Our innovative transition program is shifting operations from diesel to more sustainable battery-based systems. Five of our projects have already achieved Committed Status in the 2025 Reserve Capacity Cycle, and we have several company-transforming developments in the pipeline for the 2026 and 2027 cycles.

The Role

This is a highly autonomous, self-led position where you will take responsibility for advancing multiple complex infrastructure projects from concept through to construction-ready stage. You will be expected to identify opportunities, manage approvals pathways, coordinate external consultants, and engage with government and regulatory agencies. The role also involves commercial input into offtake, grid connection, and financing processes.

You will report directly to senior management and play a pivotal part in shaping the future energy portfolio of Tesla Holdings. A junior developer role is also available, supporting these activities while learning project development skills.

Key Responsibilities

Originate, structure, and progress utility-scale energy projects (BESS and gas reciprocating engines).

Manage land access, permitting, and environmental approval processes.

Coordinate consultants and technical advisers across planning, engineering, and environmental disciplines.

Lead grid connection applications and liaise with network service providers.

Support commercial negotiations including offtake agreements, EPC, and O&M contracting.

Prepare internal investment cases and contribute to project financing activities.

Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with regulators, landholders, contractors, and community representatives.

Provide strategic input into portfolio growth and Reserve Capacity Cycle participation.

Key Requirements

Proven experience in project development (preferably large-scale energy, renewables, or infrastructure).

Strong understanding of approvals pathways, land tenure, and grid connection processes in WA.

Commercial acumen with exposure to power purchase agreements, EPC contracts, or project finance.

Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple workstreams.

Willingness to travel to regional and remote project sites as needed.

Compensation for this position ranges from $170,000 to $200,000 annually plus bonus, depending on experience.
