Our eHealth NSW Virtual App/Desktop Delivery Platform (VADP) team is the backbone of virtual application delivery for the NSW Health network. We manage services built on a robust Citrix technology stack, supporting over 120,000 clinical and corporate virtual-app sessions 24/7 for clinicians and support staff across the state. This is an opportunity to directly impact the lives of millions and the efficiency of a world-class health system.
We're seeking a Senior Engineer who will own and drive our Citrix platform services, oversee operational management, security, automation, and continuous improvement of core Citrix technologies (Citrix Cloud, Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktops, Citrix NetScaler, NetScaler Console). You will help shape system architecture and guide technical delivery, contributing to our technology roadmap and platform innovation.
Responsibilities- Design, maintain, and support Citrix platform services to ensure performance, availability, and scalability.
- Lead transformations and deliver platform migrations, upgrades, and transformation initiatives aligned with technology roadmaps.
- Collaborate with engineers and product owners to implement roadmap features, assess risks, and prioritise system enhancements.
- Ensure resilience by leading incident resolution, managing change, and overseeing performance monitoring to uphold system resilience and security.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by developing and embedding best practices, documentation, and advancing team capability.

- Proven Citrix expertise across Citrix platforms and associated virtual app/desktop services in large, complex organizations; experience with AWS and Azure; healthcare sector experience is highly regarded.
- Experience with modern ICT delivery and operational practices (DevOps, Agile); ability to build, deploy, and operate efficiently.
- Proactive problem-solver who identifies and implements innovative technology solutions to boost service efficiency.
- Continuous learner and trusted collaborator with a willingness to share knowledge and foster growth.
