Reporting to the Assistant Production Buying Manager, you would ensure that the shareholders and stakeholders' interests are foremost served in the procurement of all goods and services taking into consideration price, delivery, quality, continuous improvement, safety, health and environment.

This is a fulltime role based at our office in Lonsdale.

• Direct Materials Procurement: Manage all assigned suppliers, ensure timely release of purchase orders and schedules, management of end-to-end freight bookings (domestic & international). Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers across multiple time zones.
• Order execution and ERP Management: You\'ll be the go-to person for expediting orders, communicating effectively with production, and maintaining accurate ERP records (item master, costs, blanket orders, work orders).
• Cost Reduction: Drive savings by identifying, qualifying, and selecting new suppliers, evaluating quotations, and leveraging existing supplier relationships or recommending alternatives.
• Inventory Management: Support our inventory reduction and optimization programs, assist in identifying slow-moving and obsolete items, and maintain appropriate safety stock, MOQ, EOQ, and batch sizes. You\'ll also handle consignment stock reconciliation.
• Supplier Quality: Manage quality alerts, non-conformance reports, and requests for credits with suppliers. You\'ll also raise engineering deviations and measure and report on supplier performance, making recommendations to management.

• Knowledge & Experience: A strong background in purchasing, international logistics, and inventory management, ideally within a manufacturing environment. You\'ll be well-versed in manufacturing operations, international trade terms (Incoterms) and compliance regulations, and fully capable of working with ERP/MRP systems.
• Education & Certifications: A tertiary qualification in Purchasing/Supply Chain or a relevant discipline is desired, and APICS certification would be a bonus
• Skills: Excellent communication (written and verbal), strong negotiation, and relationship-building abilities are crucial. You\'ll be a creative problem-solver, perform well under tight deadlines, and be decisive under pressure with a progressive mindset. The ability to read technical drawings is also a plus.
