The Role:
They are seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead their financial strategy and operations. As a strategic partner to the Executive Team and Board of Directors, you will drive financial sustainability in practices embedded in processes, reports and advice. Your expertise in strategic finance within a well-defined governance framework, your ability to develop and execute operational plans to achieve TSC's strategic objectives and your commercial insights will support TSC's mission and growth.
The COO will lead the Finance team, People & Culture, Governance and Facilities functions with support in each of those areas. Of note, governance extends organisation wide and is not confined to financial controls. The COO will work closely with the Board and relevant committees. Evidence of strategic experience is key.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term financial strategies.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Manage cash flow, investments, and capital expenditure.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Maintain compliance with regulations and mitigate financial risks.
- Support revenue generation efforts.
- Lead and mentor the People and Culture, Finance, Governance and the Property division.
- Engage with stakeholders, including the Board, auditors, and funding organisations.
- Develop and implement People and Culture policies, practices and strategies.
- Oversee the maintenance and operational of all TSC properties and develop long term facility and property planning.
- 8+ years in financial leadership roles.
- Board exposure and reporting.
- Strong, current knowledge of not-for-profit accounting and financial management.
- Proven strategic planning, risk management and operational performance skills.
- Excellent financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting abilities.
- Proficiency with financial software systems.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Proactive, action-oriented, innovative, and self-driven attitude.
- Commitment to empowering children with hearing loss.
- Experience working with NDIS or an understanding of its role in funding services.
- Degree in finance, business, or economics.
- Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA)/Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Legal right to work in Australia.
- Working with Children/Vulnerable People Check and NDIS Worker Check.
