Consultant - Emergency Medicine role at WA Country Health Service

Kalgoorlie Health Campus seeks an Emergency Medicine Consultant to join a growing team. This recruitment pool aims to fill Permanent (Sessional, Part-Time or Full Time), Fixed Term (Sessional, Part-Time or Full Time) or Casual appointments. Flexible working arrangements will be considered. Appointments from this pool are available until 31/01/2026.

About The Role

As an Emergency Medicine Consultant at Kalgoorlie Health Campus, you will deliver comprehensive clinical services and lead a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality emergency care. You will lead, support, and educate teams including Senior Medical Practitioners, Junior Medical Officers, nursing staff, administrative staff, and support staff. You will collaborate with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia, and the WACHS Command Centre to manage diverse cases and deliver exceptional care. Opportunities for progression include potential advancement to Head of Department.

About You

You are an experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant with rural or remote practice experience. You value meaningful, challenging work and improving health outcomes in Aboriginal health. You thrive in fast-paced environments, mentor junior staff, collaborate across disciplines, and strive to improve care in underserved communities. The role offers a pathway to formal leadership, including potential progression to Head of Department.

About The Emergency Department

Kalgoorlie Hospital Emergency Department serves the Goldfields region, handling a high volume of presentations and providing 24/7 emergency coverage with rotating shifts. Aboriginal patients comprise a significant portion of the patient population, underscoring the need for culturally responsive care.
