Overview

Position: Clinical Nurse – Koorliny Moort Service (Ambulatory Care Coordination) at Perth Children's Hospital. This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, and Fixed Term Part Time appointments with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency. A specific 12 months fixed term contract for 0.4 FTE and a fixed term contract for 0.5 FTE are available from approximately 29/09/2025 – 09/01/2026.

Position Profile

Perth Children's Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse to join our Koorliny Moort Service. This vital role supports the Clinical Nurse Specialist in achieving service goals and providing exceptional, individualised care to Aboriginal patients and their families. The successful candidate will offer leadership, expert nursing knowledge, and facilitate care coordination, assessment, advice, and support to Aboriginal families, whilst promoting cultural awareness within the organisation. You will be responsible for engaging Aboriginal families in a clinical setting, acting as an advocate and collaborating with the healthcare team to improve health outcomes and family satisfaction.

About the Service

Perth Children's Hospital's Koorliny Moort (Walking with Families) Ambulatory Care Coordination program provides out of hospital care to Aboriginal families who might find it hard to come into hospital for their paediatric appointments or who want to stay closer to home.

About Perth Children's Hospital (PCH): is Western Australia\'s specialist paediatric hospital and trauma centre, with 298 beds. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre, PCH offers primary care for severe medical cases and secondary services such as inpatient, outpatient, and day-stay care. Our purpose-built facility incorporates the latest evidence-based design principles to deliver optimal care to the community.

Eligibility to Apply

Requirements

Your ability to meet the work-related requirements will be assessed throughout the recruitment process. For your written application please provide the following:

  • Within the application system you will be asked to respond to the following essential selection criteria listed within the job description form for the position. Each response should demonstrate your relevant skills and experience and should not exceed 500 words per question.
  • Advanced level of skill in clinical Paediatric or Child Health care (Essential Criteria 2)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal family structure, culture and custom (Essential Criteria 3)
  • Proven ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team (Essential Criteria 5)
  • A current resume which summarises your experience and includes both phone and email contact details of two professional referees, with at least one being a recent supervisor/line manager.
