About us

NLS is NSW's leading provider of sports coaches for schools, clubs, OSHC, and Councils.

We have positions available across Sydney, rural NSW, and in several states including Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, Northern Territory, and ACT.

We are seeking Martial Arts coaches in various disciplines such as Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing, Boxercise, and Self Defence.

All coaches must have (or be willing to obtain) a current Working with Children check. Coaching experience is preferred but not necessary; however, a good knowledge and experience in the sport are required.

Schedule

Positions are available in the mornings (6:30 AM - 9:00 AM), during school hours (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM), and after school (3:00 PM - 5:00 PM). Both midweek and weekend opportunities exist, including programs during school holidays.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Martial Arts coaching or competing experience
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC) – paid, relevant to your state or territory
  • Child Protection Training (preferred)
  • First Aid + CPR Training (preferred)

  • Martial Arts coaching
  • Attend and conduct training sessions
  • Be reliable and organized
Additional Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of standard coaching practices
  • Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative relationships and communicate effectively with students, staff, administrators, and parents/guardians
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, handle confidential matters with tact, and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse communities
