Insurance (Personal Injury) - Senior Associate

The Role

A great career opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate to join our Melbourne Insurance team working alongside Stuart Eustice. In this role, you will be working across a range of litigation matters representing some of Australia's largest insurers in the areas of personal injury and general liability. You will work closely with other senior professionals and provide leadership within the team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Defend personal injury claims and general liability matters, representing major Australian insurers;
  • Provide strategic legal advice and develop strong defence strategies for insurers;
  • Manage high volumes of matters, ensuring timely resolution and cost-effective outcomes;
  • Conduct litigation, including drafting legal documents, appearing in court, and engaging in settlement negotiations;
  • Mentor and supervise junior lawyers, providing guidance and support to develop their skills; and
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to provide tailored solutions to complex insurance matters.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have between 5-8 years' experience in a reputable defendant insurance practice specialising in personal injury and general liability. You will have a proven ability to handle a high volume of claims, have excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong client management and relationship-building skills.
