About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop Supervisor to lead our team of HD Fitters in our mobile plant workshop on an 8:6 FIFO roster. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance, repair, and servicing of our heavy mobile equipment fleet. You'll manage day-to-day workshop operations, support your team, and ensure all work meets operational, safety, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workshop Operations & Scheduling - Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily workshop activities, including preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and major component change-outs.
  • Team Leadership - Supervise and mentor a team of HD Fitters, allocating tasks, managing rosters, and fostering a positive, safety-first culture.
  • Equipment Performance & Reliability - Monitor fleet performance, identify maintenance priorities, and ensure all work meets OEM and site standards.
  • Resource & Inventory Management - Manage tooling, parts, and consumables to support continuous workshop operations while controlling costs.
  • Safety & Compliance - Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in line with statutory requirements, company policies, and site safety procedures.
  • Reporting & Communication - Liaise with operations, procurement, and management teams, providing updates on equipment availability, maintenance progress, and resource needs.

Essential Criteria:
  • Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter (Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent).
  • Proven supervisory experience in a mobile plant workshop environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of mining or heavy earthmoving equipment, such as dozers, excavators, graders, loaders, and haul trucks.
  • Solid understanding of preventative maintenance systems, breakdown repairs, and component rebuilds.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
