We're reimagining the way Australians live, work, and play. We own and manage some of the most recognisable and loved retail destinations across Australia.

We're evolving our portfolio into destinations that offer a broad selection of retail, residential, and office spaces. Through our diverse portfolio, data-led decision-making, and nationwide development pipeline, we do things differently.

We are Vicinity.

At Vicinity, we believe in creating places where everyone feels they belong. As our new Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) Lead, you'll play a key role in shaping a culture where all team members feel respected, valued, and empowered to thrive.

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity - a chance to shape the future of inclusion and belonging across our organisation.

You'll lead meaningful change, influence senior stakeholders, and embed inclusive practices that make a real impact. Working closely with our People team, Employee Advocacy Groups, and leaders across the business, you'll bring our Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging strategy to life - turning vision into action and values into everyday experience.

Key Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the development and delivery of our FY26–28 DIB Strategy
  • Undertake a comprehensive review of the existing strategy, including stakeholder workshops, industry benchmarking, and identification of critical focus areas.
  • Lead the execution of DIB initiatives aligned with business priorities and cultural aspirations.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and Employee Advocacy Groups to co-design impactful initiatives that reflect the voices of our people
  • Build inclusive capability through training, events, and programs that foster psychological safety and belonging.
  • Use data and insights to identify systemic barriers and track progress on our DIB goals.
  • Represent Vicinity in external forums and networks, sharing our journey and learning from others.
  • Draft inputs for board and compliance reporting (e.g. WGEA, Champions of Change) and track progress of DIB initiatives.

Capability and Experience

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in a Diversity and Inclusion focused role
  • Proven experience developing and delivering a DIB strategy refresh
  • A deep understanding of intersectionality, inclusive leadership, and DIB compliance frameworks
  • Strong understanding of DIB compliance and reporting requirements, including WGEA and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience designing and delivering inclusive programs and training.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A passion for creating equitable systems and a workplace where everyone can thrive.

Personal Attributes (who You Are)

You consistently role model Vicinity's values through your behaviours and leadership:

Respect

  • We listen to and acknowledge each other's views
  • We have difficult conversations with care

Integrity

  • We back our words with the right actions
  • We do the right thing, no matter the situation

Customer Focus

  • We nurture a genuine connection with our customers
  • We consider customer needs when making decisions
  • We invite the right people to the table
  • We balance consensus with decisive actions
  • We always strive to improve
  • We share our challenges and celebrate the wins
