Overview

12-month contract. Manage customer accounts, ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices. Record all incoming and outgoing payments accurately in the accounting system.

Great opportunity for Accounts Receivable Officer to work with our client in the Federal Government space.

  • Anticipated duration - 12-month contract role
  • Sydney CBD based
  • 50% flexible working
  • 48 per hour + Super

About the role

As an Accounts Receivable officer, you will be responsible for key areas across Accounts Receivables including but not limited to :

  • Levy and other revenue billing management and collections
  • Generating invoices and account statements
  • Performing account reconciliations
  • Maintaining accounts receivable files and records
  • Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries
  • Annual testing of the billing engine and issues that may arise
  • Compliance reviews across Accounts Payable (AP) and management of relevant controls and processes including :
  • Fortnightly AP payment runs compliance checks
  • Quarterly AP and Procurement compliance reviews and breach reporting
  • Assisting in ad-hoc financial management, requests, and analysis
  • Liaise with and assist the ANAO in relation to the annual external audit
  • Fiscal management of APRA's activities and the safeguarding of assets in accordance with legislation.
Ideal candidate

To be successful in this role you will have :

  • Ability to prioritise and strong time management skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong initiative and ability to problem solve.
Desirable but not essential knowledge / experience
  • Knowledge of Financial Management Information Systems (Oracle - Accounts Receivable, Billing engineand Accounts Payable).
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to levies and compliance matters
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance / accounting.
