The RoleSomerly PS is seeking passionate and skilled teaching professionals with experience across a broad range of year levels, from Kindergarten to Year Six. Suitable applicants will ideally exhibit a strong commitment to teamwork, professional development, and continuous improvement, ensuring the implementation of best practices in teaching and learning.
Applicants should exhibit a proactive and positive approach to student engagement and behaviour, including the consistent application of classroom management strategies, aligned to Positive Behaviour Support and trauma informed practice. Suitable applicants will ideally be able to show the capacity to build strong, positive, and productive relationships with students, peers, and the wider school community, as well as a commitment to supporting students' mental health and wellbeing through both the delivery of social-emotional learning programs in class and through school wide positive interactions.

EligibilityTo work with us, you must:
- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.
- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
