Position Information

Leeton High School has an enrolment of 460 students with 19% of the student population being of Aboriginal heritage. The school has also experienced a steady increase in EAL/D enrolments in recent years.

Located on Wiradjuri land, Leeton High School is well-resourced, set on attractive and spacious grounds and offers a diverse curriculum to meet the needs of students to prepare them for a productive and successful future. Specific Selection Criteria

• Approval to teach students with learning and support needs secondary and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs secondary in regular classes.
• Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
• Experience in coordinating Individual Education Plans and other key documentation as required under legislation.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork, effective communication and building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers and the wider school community to improve outcomes for all students.
  
  

Conditions

Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus will be paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.

A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Special Notes

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept. Further information can be found on the merit selection webpage.
