About the team
The Aboriginal Languages Trust is a growing agency committed to promoting, nurturing and growing Aboriginal languages across NSW. We work in genuine partnership with Aboriginal communities, the Trust Board and government to deliver long-term, strategic outcomes in language revitalisation. As part of the Community Engagement team, you'll join a dedicated group of Aboriginal professionals working across NSW to strengthen relationships, support cultural expression, and amplify the voices of communities in shaping our programs.
About the Role
The Project Officer works as part of a team to support and deliver projects that progress the establishment and ongoing functions of the Aboriginal Languages Trust. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders across NSW. Responsibilities include project management, community engagement, event management, monitoring and reporting, and stakeholder consultation. The team collaborates closely with the Aboriginal Languages Trust Board, government, and community stakeholders.

A bit about you
- Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled at building strong relationships and managing stakeholder interests, especially with Aboriginal communities.
- Consultation & Communication: Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience in project management, including report and brief preparation, resource coordination, and project monitoring.
- Think and Solve Problems: Ability to develop knowledge of local, regional, and state Aboriginal language activities to support community language learning.
